Together with their longtime partner, Meierhofer Automation Co. Ltd. based in Souzhou, China, Schnaithmann Maschinenbau GmbH was again represented at the IAS Industrial Automation Show in Shanghai. The partner companies exhibited together at the joint stand in the German industry section. The international trade fair for industrial automation technology took place from September 17 to 21, 2019 in Shanghai.
The annual IAS is considered the industry barometer for China's automation market. "We were very pleasantly surprised by a consistently high number of visitors throughout the entire week of the fair," says Marc Burkhardt, Key Account Manager at Schnaithmann. "The spectator magnet at the joint stand was certainly our workpiece carrier circulating belt system with the two collaborating robots, which impressed many trade fair visitors and led to concrete discussions concerning automation projects." Kevin Meierhofer, Managing Director of Meierhofer Automation, agrees with Marc Burkhardt that not only the number of visitors at the stand was outstanding, but among them were some very promising contacts, which will now be thoroughly followed up. Representatives of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as well as the German Consulate in China also took time to visit the stand and were very interested in the automation technology from Remshalden.
The aim of the joint trade fair presence was to expand the cooperation between Meierhofer and Schnaithmann in particular in the areas of conveyor systems, assembly technology and service and to establish standard conveyor systems from Schnaithmann in the Chinese market. Schnaithmann standard modular transfer systems will in the future be available from Meierhofer in Souzhou. First, the assembly of the modules and systems, and then successively the production of components to be carried out on site. "This saves manufacturing costs, but above all transport costs and valuable delivery time, so that our standard conveyor systems will soon be available in China at absolutely competitive prices and within a few weeks," says a delighted Marc Burkhardt.
Schnaithmann is a system supplier for automation technology and manufactures transfer and assembly systems for automation, assembly, material flow and handling tasks in Remshalden near Stuttgart. With an export quota of 50 percent, Schnaithmann supplies customers all over the world.
